iTunes no longer sees iPhone 7 since latest update to i Tunes and phone.

since the latest and greatest update to iTunes and iPhone 7 (as of 12/8/2017), iTunes does not recognize the phone. My Windows 10 machine see the phone, but not iTunes, which i depend on to sync my Outlook Calendar to the phone. I do i fix this?
