Find my friends stopped notifying correctly

Find my friends has stopped notifying properly. It was working up until a few days ago. But now it only notifies when I actually go into the app. I have it set to notify when my friend leaves their location, but they will already be at my house and it hasn't notified me. Then i click on it and then the notification comes up say " so and so left " address". But they left like 25 minutes ago.

It just started doing this. I have tried turning location services on and off, resetting phone. The actual locations are all working, there are no issues with service or location. Just that the notifications are not working

I'm on an iPhone 6s. Friend also has an iPhone 6 or 6s

Hi. Thank you. We just started having problems with it so I'm not understanding why it says wifi needs to be on, because when someone is driving they won't be connected to wifi!?

I'm guess I'm confused why it has worked for us all this time with or without wifi and then suddenly stopped.

It has worked for us with only using data because while driving or going from house to house etc there is no wifi to connect to.

So if someone is driving along the road only using their data when there is no wifi to connect to, it will not work properly?
