photos slows my iMac to a crawl in high sierra

can someone please help me....i have a late 2009 iMac....since upgrading to high sierra my mac slows to a crawl when photos is opened......below is my ere check info...

Hardware decisions are personal - unless you are an expert buy from an Apple store or a good Mac vendor like Other World Computing


no idea about the background processes - they are too many variables - keeping the Mac powered and awake speeds the process but depending on photos size, RAW VS JPEG, disk speed, available memory and memory speed, etc, etc ,etc the length will vary a lot - for 12,000 I'd look at several weeks probably
