Not receiving audio FaceTime notifications when IPad is locked

i am no longer receiving audio notifications when receiving a FT call and my iPad is locked. I have checked that notification is turned on with a sound selected. I have individual ring tones set for some of my contacts.... yet I am getting missed FT calls as no audio tone.

And yes, I checked that the do not disturbe is turned off. However under the “silence” sub heading I only have two options: always or when locked....it forces me to select one or the other.

I dont know what else to check

i do not have this issue on my iPhone 8

iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 11.1.2
