iTunes alt key issue

I've been having the following issue with iTunes (12.7.1.14 currently, but previous iterations as well) on Windows 10 for a while now:

Whenever I alt-tab into (or out of) iTunes the alt key "sticks," in that if I start typing in the search box it triggers menus. The only way to stop this is by pressing the escape key five or six times before typing a search. I've accidentally logged out of Apple Music a bunch of times now, among other smaller annoyances.

Further, the search box is always focused, meaning that the spacebar is useless to pause and play music.

Anyone having the same issues?
