I would check amazon if you need a battery if you have a small budget.

Let's see: A good quality replacement battery (meaning one that won't explode, catch fire, or fail early) should cost around $40. If you pay less than that you are taking a huge risk.

Apple charges $79 to replace a battery, and warrants the replacement and the phone. So you can save about $40 by replacing it yourself. Replacing it is not easy unless you have proper tools and are experienced working on microelectronic devices. In fact, I posted in another thread yesterday trying to help a user who replaced a battery, and now Touch ID no longer works in their phone. Clearly, they broke something unrelated in the process of self-repair, as this is not a usual side effect of a proper battery replacement. But now Apple will not look at the phone or offer a discounted out of warranty replacement phone.

In summary, you are gambling $40 against a phone that would cost $500 or more if you make a mistake in the process of self-repair. Those odds (11 to 1) are not great.
