Question: Help! Please

Having problems with my Macbook Pro (15", Retina, Early 2013).

Fan runs more often that before. Battery life doesn't last as long. Under the battery symbol it says "Service Battery". Tried to reset SMC using Apples reset instructions (assuming this computer does not have a removal battery). Still say "Service Battery"

Does anyone else have any ideas of what else it could be or what could have been done wrong? Thanks in advance everyone

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)

Well, you’ve done your best, and for that congrats- but it may be time to replace your battery- if you go to the big Apple icon at the top left of the screen and then go to ‘ about this mac’ it Should give you some info about your battery or up top on the screen there should be a battery icon. Clicking on that should give you a little help, look for number of cycles left...batteries don't last forever, especially with hard use, so-time to make an appointment, take it in, and get the battery replaced

Bummer. It is what it is.... Thank you John for the reply and the knowledge.

Follow up question: Is it worth trying to replace the batteries my self? I'm comfortable trying it, mainly wondering if its a huge saving or not enough to bother with it? Thanks again

Apple charge $199 : Mac Service Answer Center - Apple Support

It's a simple enough task, depending on the person & available tools; finding a replacement as good as the original can be harder. There's some real junk on sale.

I recently fitted an 'egoway' to a 15" after enough decent reviews persuaded me : so far it's good.
