iPad connection issues

I received an older iPad from my parents which had been reset to defaults. I connected this device to my computer and applied a backup from another iPad to it to try and get the apps which are on the other device onto this one. Once I did that, now neither iPad can access the internet. Videos will not play, the devices will not remain connected to the wireless network. I get errors that the devices cannot connect to my Apple ID. I am not sure what to do at this point as both devices are now useless for anything which requires wireless connection. Any ideas?
