Using itunes

Hello,

My phone is dead, when I was updating the system. I tried to update it by itunes on window-pc. The message I have received told me that I do not have enough space to do that. How can I reach my files on my phone through the itunes, using window-pc? If I restore my phone, will that delete everything even my photos? If they will be deleted, can I recover them?
