High Sierra- erro occurred while preparing installation

Anyone have this problem? Theory is that I may have accidentally paused It during the update and turned off my computer, essentially putting It in limbo. I cant update in recovery mode without getting the error message as seen in the subject line.

Can I wipe my computer so I can start over? I don’t know how to fix this.

I tried the time stamp thing in Terminal. No issues there.

Hi Pattyro7,

I understand that you are trying to install macOS High Sierra, but you get an error stating "An error occurred while preparing the installation". I'm happy to provide some help for this issue.

First, make sure that the date and time are set correctly. You can use the steps in the following article to do that:

macOS Sierra: Set the date and time on your Mac
If you have previously installed any third-party RAM, temporarily remove it while you try the upgrade to macOS High Sierra:
MacBook Pro: How to remove or install memory - Apple Support
If you do not have any third-party RAM installed, use the steps in the article below to repair your disk using Disk Utility:
Repair a disk using Disk Utility - Apple Support
Once this is done, find and remove the macOS High Sierra installer in your Applications folder. When this is removed, try installing macOS High Sierra again.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Cheers!
