How to DELETE apps from the app store download history list?

The old Itunes afforded us the luxury of being able to delete app history from a long list of apps downloaded. After the redesign of Itunes we lost that. All I can do is go into the app store history and hide items, that's pretty lame! There has to be a way to blow away app download history selectively? Change is inevitable, progress is optional with apple it appears.
