Question: “WiFi Password incorrect”

This happened before on my iPhone 6s, and now since updating to iOS 11.2 it is happening on my new iPhne X. Mphone will randomly WiFi without notifying me, leaving me connected to data only. When I finally recognize that I am not connected to our WiFi, I get the error message that the WiFi pw is incorrect. This is impossible. I wind up having to resetmy network settings a bunch of times, and messing with the wps button on the top of the modem and even then it is hit or miss. Sometimes it works immediately, other time it does not. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this, and how I could remedy it permanently? Removing the WiFi password is not an option.

On your phone select the network then "Forget This Network."

Turn router off.

On the phone reset network settings.

Turn router on and connect again.

You might also try changing the password on the router.

If the router is dual band you could try the other band and also see if there is any firmware update for it.
