Question: No audio in the ear-speaker during the phone calls in my iPhone X

Recently, I bought the iPhone X and sold my iPhone 6s Plus. I transferred my data to iPhone X through iTunes. And I am using the newest version of iOS 11.2.

I have being facing some serious issues in the new iPhone that is during a phone call there is no sound in ear speaker on the device. However, it works when I switch on the speaker. Meanwhile, sometimes both of them does not work.

It works perfectly fine when I restart the iPhone X.

This should not happen on a $1149 phone :(

Please tell me what is the problem? Is it hardware or software? I hope it is software.

And Please advise the solution to this problem.

I would be really grateful. Thank you in advance for your support.

You should be able to hear the other person without having to do anything special. It should just work.

If other audio functions properly there are two likely causes for your problem.

The first is that there is a problem on your carrier's. Check with the carrier for any issues in your location or any carrier setting update.

The second is a hardware problem on the phone itself. For that, make an appointment at the Genius Bar or an authorized service provider.

Dear sir,

Thank you for your support.

I will check with the carrier and ask for the update settings.

Problem #2:

If it was a hardware problem then it might not work after a restart of the device. What do you think? Because in that problem, the microphone works as I checked Siri as well as voice memos ans there microphone is working. So, what do you think about it now?

Furthermore, do you think I should reset the phone and copy the data again? Or secondly, should I reset the settings? Will it make a difference.

Waiting your feedback

Essentially, one is trying to find which haystack to search for the missing needle.😕

It is certainly possible that it is a software problem of some type.

One thing you could try would be to back up your phone to iCloud or a computer.

Then erase the phone and set up as new but do not restore anything from the backup. Simply test the call function and see if it works properly.

If you experience the same issue, then it is either an incompatibility of the carrier profile on the phone with iOS or a hardware problem.

You could at that stage have the Genius Bar or an authorized service provider do an evaluation the phone. If no problem is found then it almost certainly is a software incompatibility issue. Unfortunately, until Apple and the carrier resolve such a problem there would be no user solution.
