Itunes plays as soon as I get in my car

I have a 2015 Acura RDX and an iphone 7 connected via bluetooth. itunes will start playing as soon as my phone is recognized in the car but the even more annoying thing is when I am leaving a message through my business voicemail system, the music will interrupt it and start playing and I have to close itunes and start my message over. I have contacted support who had me do a network reset. All that did was remove my screen savers and my wifi connection. I didn't even have to re pair my phone to my car- it started playing itunes as soon as I started the car. It's very annoying and frustrating. I have spoken with Acura and they told me it is an itunes/apple issue. I would turn off bluetooth but I have vm, etc to listen to as I'm driving and want the option to do this through the car audio system. I don't want to be blasted out by the same song every single time I start my car. I find it hard to believe that apple hasn't resolved this yet.
