How can I reset the Firmware Password Utility from terminal?

I want to change the Firmware password but one of the characters from the password are not accepted as an input from the keyboard from Cmd-R after boot up. Perhaps it will be easier if I just change the password from terminal from admin account but I can't remember the commands to do this.

Could someone shed some light on this please. Thank you.
