LaunchPad opens with each key.

Launch pad opens every time I press any key. I upgraded to 10.13 to solve it. Restored all shortcuts to default. Failed. Performed a clean install and the error went away for less than a day. Is this a virus activity? I ran a Sophos scan, no results. It's driving me crazy.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Combaz.
If I understand your post correctly, Launchpad is opening unexpectedly when you press any key. That would make it really difficult to get anything done; I'd like to help.
It sounds like you've done some great troubleshooting already. Let's do some testing to isolate the issue. Safe mode will tell us if the issue is related to a startup item or plugins, and sometimes corrects the issue. This article will tell you how: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac
If everything is working correctly in safe mode, but is not working when you get back to your user account, please check the section titled "If an issue doesn't happen in safe mode" for the next troubleshooting steps.
If the issue continues while in safe mode, a test user will let us know if the issue is isolated to your account, or system wide: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac. If the issue happens in the test user also, then please check the section titled "If an issue happens in more than one user account."
Let us know if that resolves this issue for you.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Take care.

Hello, thank you for responding to my issue. I've run through the above suggestions. The issue persists in safe mode across logins, so its a system wide issue. I can't kind the article titled "If an issue happens in more than one user account." so I've been unable to follow that process. I have found a work around for the moment which is to connect to mu iMac using my MacBook via screen sharing enabling me to type on the MacBook keyboard without prompting Lauchpad to open with every key. I wonder if this is a clue?

LaunchPad opens with each key.
