2015 MacBook Pro with High Sierra installed several weeks ago all of a sudden last week stopped downloading attachments that come into the Inbox in my Mail app. How do I fix it?

Your issue has to do with the Mail app on a MacBook Pro notebook computer. You posted to the Mac Pro area of the forum which is a desktop computer. I will ask the forum moderator to relocate this post to the MacBook Pro area so that it get the attention that it deserves.
