How do I sync Desktop Calendar with iPhone Calendar?

Content that I add to my Calendar on iMac desktop is not syncing to my iPhone 6s Calendar. I have tried signing in to all the apps as suggested on Apple help page. Have adjusted all my settings I can find to make iPhone settings as "open" as possible (using up TONS of power). Nothing is working.

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2), sync to iPhone 6s OS 11.2

Hi Jan CT,

I understand that the calendar on your iMac isn't syncing over to the calendar on your iPhone. I use calendars on my devices as well and I depend on them being in sync.
