Extend range of wifi for my macbook pro

I have a MacBook Pro & an iPad. My Airport router is on the first floor of my home. I am have problems with the signal strength on the second floor where my office is located. How can I extend the range?

OBS MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.4/2.2 GHz), iOS 11.2

You can use an Airport Express to extend the range or your Apple router by simply Joining the existing network.
