It's not supposed to.

To pair the Apple Watch just make sure Bluetooth is turned on and follow these steps:

Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support

If you're transferring the watch from a different iPhone to this one, follow these steps:

Switch your Apple Watch to a new iPhone - Apple Support
