After updating I can't login automatically anymore??

Hi,

Wondering if someone can help. I've always had automatic login set so I don't have to input a password on login on my Mac, but after updating my OS to High Sierra 10.13.1 now it asks for a name AND password on every login!

I've tried all the suggestions I could find ie:

*Turning off FileVault

*Using the same or different iCloud passwords

*Turning off iCloud

*Switching automatic login on

*Trying a new login password

..and yes all of this is with the padlock unlocked.

None of these things work, it's most infuriating. I notice too that even though I set it to automatic login when I restart and go back into "Security and Privacy" it's checked "Require Password"again every time!
