i only want my playlist on my iPod not my music library. How do I do that?

just recently I have not been able to sync my playlist onto my ipod. there is a message that there is not enough space. I would like to have the selected playlist only sync so my storage is manageable. How can I perform this task?

iPod classic, iOS 9.3.5

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding you'd like to sync only selected content to your iPod to due to low storage. I'm happy to help.

You can choose to sync only specific playlists in iTunes using the steps in the links below:
iTunes for Windows: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad

iTunes for Mac: Sync iPod, iPhone or iPad
