macbook pro won’t go past startup screen
I’ve tried safe mode, disk check, nothing is working.

I'm understanding your issue to be, from your post, the MacBook Pro won't go past the startup screen. I see from your post as well that you have already tried Safe Mode and Disk Check to no avail.
Have you also tried to reset the NVRAM? If not, let's give that procedure a try. Once finished let us know the results.
