I have two Apple watches. One being a first generation and one a third generation. Can I have both paired to the same cellphone?

Yes, you can.
More than one Apple Watch can be paired to the same iPhone, with your Activity data syncing between them automatically when you switch watches. Keep in mind that only one of the watches can be active at any given time.
