iphone 6 restore via itunes

i have an iphone 6 (16 GB), it met white screen death during a normal recharge. I have been able to put it in recovery mode. got latest software downloaded while connecting to itunes. After downloading software once itunes showed its finalizing file iphone got started with white screen , black logo and underneath progress bar . But even after 9 hrs of itunes restore process no change in progress bar, which has not even started. If i try close down itunes a message pops up that recovery in progress if you quit now whole process will be required to be done again. I think 9 hrs is too much time for recovery. Any guidance ?
