I am showing El Captain in my applications

On my MacBook Pro I am running High Sierra however I have El Captain in my application folder. We have tow MacBook Pros both running H.S and the other one does have El Captain in its application folder. How do I get rid of it?

Hello mike bowman,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that El Capitan is in your Applications even though you're running macOS High Sierra. I can surely see how this could be a bit confusing. I'm happy to help.

Please try removing El Capitan by dragging it from the Applications folder to the Trash.
