How do I remove "Other User" on High Sierra

One would think this would be simple, but not...

I have an iMac that was a former employee's with High Sierra macOS version 10.13.2.

I want to delete the former employee.

I have already created a "new Admin" and made him the "Current User". The former user is a "Standard" (Other) User.

One would think all I should do is highlight/select the former user and hit the "-" (minus) button, but no good.

What am I missing or am I doing something wrong?

In advance - thanks for anyone's help.

From your screen shot, make sure the padlock is unlocked then click on Login Options and you should see a line on the right side for Network Account Server. If is shows something other than a button for Join, click on it and remove the Open Directory domain from the list using the "-" . Click Stop Using Server then Done. This should unbind the Mac from the network Open Directory. The Other user should disappear next time you restart.
