Double display profiles?
Hi!
I have duplicate display profiles in my color display preferences:
Why is that and how can remove them?
Thanks!
Chris.
MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)
This is very common, and normally caused by third party apps installing some of the same profiles the OS already has on the drive.
Such as for Adobe RGB (1998). You'll find one copy in the /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder. Then look in the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder. There may be another copy of it directly in that folder. But much more often, if you've installed any Adobe product, it will create two aliases that point to a Profiles and Recommended folder. You'll find the second instance of Adobe RGB (1998) in the Recommended folder.

The profiles listed, but not selected, are being made available for you to select if you choose.
If you do not choose to use a different one for a particular display, simply ignore them -- they are not active, only the selected (and highlighted) profile is active.
There is no need to delete them.
Hi,
If I'm not in the good place to ask my questions, please advise me.
Thanks.
Thanks!
But why is my computer is duplicating some color profiles and not other ones?
I find it messy and unnecessary.
Thanks again!
Thank you very much!
