Yahoo Email Issues

I get notifications that I have emails but when I open MAIL they never load in my inbox. After seeing others on here having problems, this has to be an APPLE issue, not YAHOO. I can get emails in the YAHOO app. This is a huge issue that Apple needs to look into and resolve.

Hello jp21barron.

If I'm understanding correctly, your Yahoo email will not load. I understand how this could be an issue and will be happy to help.

Check out the steps below to see if it helps from our article: If you can’t send or receive emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Before you begin

iOS backups made in iCloud and iTunes back up your mail settings, but not your emails. If you delete or change your email account settings, previously downloaded email might be removed from your iOS device.

When you're ready, try the steps below. After each step, see if you still need help.

Make sure that your device can connect to the Internet

To see if your device has a cellular-data or Wi-Fi Internet connection, go to Safari and open a webpage, like www.apple.com.

Remove your email account and set it up again

  1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website. Make sure that all of your email is there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your iOS device.
  2. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts.
  3. Tap the email account that you want to remove.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Add your account again.
Cheers.

Make sure you have it set up as an IMAP account and that it requires SSL.

I know a few that can't add Yahoo and a couple of other types of email accounts bc their provider doesn't require this heightened level of security. IOS won't allow it, if they feel malicious attacks could potentially get through via no SSL requirement by a provider. It defeats the purpose of the security updates iOS 11 incorporates to protect users.
