Problem with iPhoto

I allowed the recent system upgrade (Apple) last night. Now I cannot download a photo from the internet or my email into iPhoto. Can't seem to solve it in settings...any suggestions would be great. The only thing I noticed is that my iCloud is full...but why would that stop photo imports? Thank you

Sorry but we can not see you so you have to share details

What upgrade did you do? What version of the OS and of iPhoto do you have? Why exactly can you not download a photo? How are you trying and what happens, what error message do you get?

And what iCloud services are you using? And yes being out of storage certainly will cause issues but since we have no idea what you have, what is happening or what you are doing it is impossible to say what problems will occur

I upgraded to MacOS High Sierra 10.13.1 and the iPhoto is Version 3.0 3231.11.210

What is happening...If I wanted to save a photo from the internet or save a photo from an email, I would simply click on "save to iPhoto" (or photos). The photo would simply download into my file and I would see the icon bounce up and down. Now, since the upgrade, nothing happens. The pictures do not go into my iPhoto...no icon bounce etc. That's about the best I can describe. If you think it's the iCloud storage, then I will upgrade my storage and see what happens. But it seems like for some reason iPhoto is not allowing external imports. Thank you for your response. PJ

This is still working for me. When I ctrl-click or right click an image attachment in an email and use "Export to Photos", the Photos icon in the Dock will bounce and the photo will appear in Photos, as the last item in the Imports album.

Please confirm: Are you using "export to iPhoto" or "Export to Photos"?

Both applications are very different are using different libraries. If you import to iPhoto you will not see the photo in Photos.

I've downloaded 4500 photos over the years from the internet, emails and transfers from other devices (phone and camera) as well as the cloud. There is no logical reason for the same activity to suddenly stop working except for the system upgrade, which I hate doing BTW for this very reason. Something always gets screwed up! No settings were changed, there is no reason for the files to be changed or compressed etc...It's either got to do with iCloud or for some reason photo is closing when I minimize it. I appreciate your willingness to help here and you've had some great questions and ideas...but four or five people have weighed in and still no fix. I'll have to call Apple tomorrow. I'll post the result if the problem is solved. Thanks again for your generous time. PJ
