Do I have to use touch ID to use apple pay?

I don't have that plus sign in my wallet app on my iOS device (yepp, iOS version is up to date), nor do I have "wallet/apple pay" in my system preferences on my mac (also up to date version of OSX). Both devices have touchID, however, I don't use it. Is there any way to use apple pay without using touch ID?

iPhone SE, iOS 11.2
