Why won't El Capitan install on my Macbook Pro?

I am wanting to update my OS to El Capitan, my Macbook appears to fit all the criteria but when I go to update from the App Store it says that 'This Version of OSX 11 cannot be installed on this computer'?

I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.7.5 with 2.4ghz Intel Core i7 processor and 4gb 1333 Mhz Memory?

Thanks for the help.

You are probably getting that error because your computer can run High Sierra. If you have access to an older Mac, sign into the App Store with your Apple ID and download it. You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program which will do all the work for you.

Bootable USB Flash Drive – Diskmaker X oruse Apple’s method Create a bootable installer for OS
