Hotspot No Longer Working Over Wi-Fi

I recently did the software update on both my iPhone 7 and my iPad to iOS 11.2.

Now, it seems my Hot Spot from my iPhone is no longer connecting via Wi-Fi.

I've tried it via Bluetooth and it does work that way ---- however, i need it to work via Wi-Fi.

  • I've toggled the Wi-Fi on both devices on and off.
  • I've toggled the Hot Spot on my iPhone on and off.
  • I've completely powered down both devices.

Still it will not connect.

Any suggestions?

Is the Personal Hotspot on the phone indicating it is enabled?

Is Cellular data toggled on in Settings on the phone?

If so, on the device that is trying to connect, identify the Personal Hotspot connection and delete it and turn the device off.

On the phone then rename the Personal Hotspot (change the name of the phone) and then turn the device on and try connecting again.
