Problem with upgrading Photos to High Sierra

I upgraded to High Sierra (10.13.2) last night and have been trying to open Photos (3.0) today. It says it is updating library and slowly gets to 23% then stops and eventually quits, shutting Photos down. I've tried several times, unplugged everything, restarted my Mac, but the same problem happens. Any suggestions please?
