Back up the phone and restore it from the back up, preferably using iTunes.

I tried it on the iMac with the latest ios, on a PC with windows 10, on a PC with windows 7 ... the same error
Called Apple support and together we change the original cable to another original cable, one USB port to another USB port on the motherboard - the same error ...
iphone is still in recovery mode
so Apple support can`t help and sent me to the service center for a "hard update" ...
... now whithout my phone😕

hmm....i see ...it will $299 for no warranty - not bad for trying to upgrade via iTunes😎
