  2. remove all login items
  3. Using another account to start iTunes.
  4. Start from Safe-mode to launch iTunes.
  5. Change permission by clicking Get Info., then change privilege Read & Write to everyone after unlocking the bottom-right icon on the iTunes.app info window. error: "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission." Seems that I've tried all options to recover iTunes but failed. Pls kindly help!

After numerous try & errors, it was solved by the following step:

  1. Finder -> Applications -> iTunes.app
  2. right click -> Get Info -> expand Sharing & Permissions
  3. click bottom right lock icon and unlock it by inputing admin password
  4. click system under Sharing & Permissions
  5. click the wheel icon at the bottom, select "Make system the owner"
  6. reinstall latest version of iTunes

Don't know why it works, but previously when I tried uninstalled and/or reinstalled iTunes without step 5 above, it all failed to make iTunes open.

Reinstalled several times, but nothing changed!

Tried uninstall completely iTunes, but cannot change the read/write rights! Only appeared:

The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have the necessary permission.

Even tried using terminal with root authority to delete iTune.app directory, but appeared:

"Operation not permitted."
