The iMac Pro is just that, a high end product for the users
that really need that significant amount of horsepower and
at a base price of around $5000 is well out of reach of many
mainstream iMac buyers considering the current base model
27" 5K iMac is $1800.
As to the future of the current iMac line, only Apple knows.
But again, that leads to a paradox. If the iMac Pro is the only iMac, when what is the point of the "Pro"?
For a Time, there was only a MacBook Pro, but that was because Apple discontinued the old design of the MacBook before replacing it with a brand new design. I think it is perfectly reasonable that Apple is going to redesign the iMac at some point. As part of that they will discontinue the old design. You can't buy a Ford Fairlane anymore, but that doesn't bother people. I suspect a future, redesigned iMac won't bother people much either.
According to the ToU here, we are not allowed to speculate on what Apple may or may not do, so unless Apple makes an official announcement, your best bet may be to check rumor sites.
Hello Hurrman,
I think we can do logical analyses. How can Apple discontinue the iMac and replace it with an iMac?

Rumours... just junk, ignore them.
