I just updated my iPhone 7+ today and ever since, whenever I open iMessage to text, setting up Apple Pay opens. I don’t want to use Apple Pay. I want to TEXT! I am getting tired of updates and issues!! (Unable to open iMessage without Apple Pay opening since iOS 11.1.2 update) How do I text in iMessage without setting up Apple Pay opening?

I understand your inconvenienced by this situation, however, I would advise performing an update now that 11.2.1 is out as this bug could possibly be addressed. If you're still having issues, I would recommend performing a restore of the device, setting up as new and seeing if the issue persists. If it does, please contact AppleCare so there can be a reach out to engineering in order to help resolve your issue.
Thank you for your response. As I had stated in both the title of the message and in the message, I had updated to the latest ios version and that was when the issue started. I finally just clicked on the Apple Pay setup when opening iMessage and it went straight to my messages and has not occurred since. Thanks again. Linda A.
