Itunes won't accept my password

My iMac won't accept my current password for my iTunes account, so I am unable to download purchases done on my other devices. It is an early 2009 iMac running Yosemite 10.10.5 with iTunes Version 12.7.2. It looks like this was an update on iTunes installed on Dec 7, 2017. Is it the update? I know that it is the correct password, I can go online and manage my Apple ID with the password and see that this iMac as a device on the account. Can I delete and reinstall my iTunes App?

iMac (24-inch Early 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), iTunes 12.7.2

Jennmartpoet,

I see that no one has responded to your post. If you can answer a few questions, it may help the community to better understand your issue.

1) Can you tell me where exactly you're signing in with your Apple ID?
2) What happens when you attempt to sign in; is there an error message that appears?
3) Are you able to sign into the iTunes Store on any of your other devices?

Cheers.
