How to fix siri, that can’t read pdf files properly in ibooks?

I just updated to ios 11.2.1 from ios 10.3.3 and in general i am not satisfied with the update at all! I knew it had a lot of problems, but still made the leap and now i can’t “speak screen” in ibooks, it just names the page numbers instead of text for pdf.
