Missing emails after restore

Just upgraded from my ancient ipad 2 to new ipad pro, before I set up the new ipad, last night I cleaned up my ipad 2 to then have only 9 emails in my inbox.

I then backed up the ipad 2 with itunes.

Everything seemed to restore fine from my itunes back up to new ipad pro BUT my flagged emails and sent emails didnt restore from my itunes back up only my inbox restored ok but now I suddenly have 495 emails in my in box.

Telstra email account


Can anyone help with what I did wrong and what happened to the flagged emails and sent emails and is it possible to restore them
