MacBook Air keeps freezing after 10 minutes of use

I’ve had my MacBook Air for 4-5 years and it just started freezing the past week. It will work perfectly fine for up to 10 minutes, then it will freeze and the spinning color wheel cursor will pop up. I will have no choice but to shut down my computer and restart it for the laptop to work again. When turned back on, everything will relaunch and google chrome will give me the option to “restore” tabs, since chrome didn’t shut down correctly.
