Log,in,screen,locked,,doesnt,recognize,password,after,latest,update

After updating my laptop today, after 20 hours of updating it then took multiple attempts to turn it back on. I walked away in frustration, then came back to it started, so logged in as usual with a set up for the new program. It shut after 5 mins of inactivity, now back to the home screen I’m locked out as it doesn’t recognise my password or any old passwords I have used on this Mac Pro?

Not shure what to do?

Thanks for the advice, but Apple Support is more frustrating than the screen being locked. Macworld.co.auk had some sound advice for people who aren’t in the computer business and speak Clearly and concisely for those who aren’t tech savey, or reluctant to press the wrong keys and easily loose data. I managed to unlock it with step by step instructions, even having to go to the fifth option of unlocking attempts. It’s still not fully functional, so I have booked to the Geious Bar, which took me an hour to navigate through the ‘Apple Support’ to do, as they make it quite difficult as an option. Lesson learnt... go android!
