Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
This happens sporadically, but too often... I try to Login to my iMac, I type in the password on my wireless keyboard and nothing happens, then later, a bunch of characters type in, more than I typed and I cannot Login! I hope you can help? Thank you!
MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Restart the computer holding down the command - option/alt - P - R keys before the gray screen appears. Continue to hold until you hear the startup chime for the second time. You may need to do this 2-3 times.
Try a SMC reset. The article covers when this is required, but doing this will not affect anything.
