thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2

I purchased a Wavlink Dual Bay Docking Station. It is USB C. Our MacBook Pro Retina 13" doesn't have a USB C port. Will purchasing a thunderbolt 3 (USB C) to Thunderbolt 2 adapter allow the transfer of data from the Docking station to the laptop? Thank you.
