Macbook Pro 2017 shows black screen with a pointer on shutting down.

Hi there, my Macbook Pro 2017 is not shutting down, instead it shows a black screen with a pointer. I tried to remain patient and wait for nearly hour but no luck. I then forcefully shut it down. But every time I try to shutdown it keeps showing the black screen.

Your cooperation and help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, 2 TBT3), macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)

repeat 2/3 times

Reset the nonvolatile random-access memory (NVRAM)

(OPTION+COMMAND+p+r at Startup)

Then use safeboot (SHIFT at Startup)

Then reboot normally with devices disconnected and shut down.
