denied ID change

Hi,

I'm trying to change my Apple ID username which has a .mac email address. I was told there's no way to do it other than deleting. I am transgender, I went through a legal name and gender change 3 years ago, username is still in my old dead name. This is demeaning, the supervisor I spoke with offered no possible solutions or workarounds, I expressed my discomfort, she rudely said "Have a great day" at end of our conversation.

I'm really disappointed in Apple and considering switching to PC/Android after unsuccessfully trying to update my Apple ID for the last 3 years, I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

If anyone has suggestions or advice please help. Thank you.
