mail passowords not accepted

I did an update to OS 10.11.6 and found after restart I couldn't access four of my email accounts - had to put passwords in. I know I am using the correct passwords, but they are rejected as not verifiable. Between this and all the verification codes it makes me never want to to a software update again.


Please help! I need to be able to access my mail. Thanks you.

Thanks for responding. I have multiple emails, each different. I called apple support and they walked me through it. I had to delete some accounts and reinstall them. Something with the latest software update made the mail program require password authentications. I was fairly aggravated as it took up a lot of time yesterday just to get back to where I was prior to update.
