Playback now dropping audio and skipping in viewer and timeline. FCPX 10.4

Watching clips in the browser, or playing from project timeline audio drops and timecode starts skipping after updating to 10.4

Restarted, ran additional osx updates, made sure playback is on optimized, for better performance.

Attempted dual display, and every other thing I could think of. No notification of dropped frames, continues to play, but does it every 10-20 seconds.

Any additional things to try on this new update?

Why did I update right away? Lesson learned again.
