I am not able to sign in with Facetime

I am not able to sign in with Facetime using my apple id. This happens when i try to do this with my Mackook and with my NEW ipad. But I can do this using my iphone. At the same time a friend of mine can sign in with Facetime on my macbook with HIS apple id. What to do? What is the problem with my apple id?
